Anti-democratic forces conspiring to derail the system, says Senator Lashkari

QUETTA, Dec 21: Pakistan People’s Party Balochistan President Senator Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani has said that anti-democratic forces were conspiring to derail the democratic system but PPP would frustrate their nefarious designs.

He expressed these view while addressing a press conference at Sarawan House on Monday accompanied by Federal Minister for Livestock Humayun Kurd, Manan Gohar and other office bearers of PPP.

He said that meeting of provincial council of the PPP was held here and discussed different issues including law and order situation, Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package and important party matters.

He said that meeting reposed full confidence in the leadership of PPP’s co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and strongly condemned what he termed media trial of Mr Zardari.

Senator Lashkari Raisani said, whenever PPP comes into power anti-democratic forces become active and start hatching conspiracies against it while media trial of president is part of such conspiracies.

“Anti-democratic forces in past created confrontation like situation between PPP, Army and Bureaucracy and now once again they are trying to pit PPP with judiciary”, he said.

He said that PPP with the help of masses would not let their designs to be materialized.

Terming Aghaz-e-Balochistan Package and NFC-Award a positive step, PPP leader said that after 19 years the equitable distribution of resources had been ensured.

He said that besides distribution of divisible pool, inverse population density, backwardness and poverty had been included in new NFC-Award and Balochistan would get Rs 160 billion additional which would help to lessen its grievances.

Responding to a query about rifts in PPP in Balochistan, Mr. Lashakari said that the representatives of provincial council had demanded central leadership for reorganization of party so that it could be made further functional.

He said that Balochistan Package was a positive step to heal the wounds of Balochistan but some nationalist forces unjustifiably opposing it so that they could maintain their political existence.

Responding to yet another question, PPP Balochistan President said that PPP government had promised with the people that it would provide jobs to them and had restored 0.6 million sacked employees so far.

“Under Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package steps are underway for the elimination of unemployment and it will yield positive results”, he added.

He said that security of people and their property was responsibility of provincial government and it should take necessary steps in this connection.

Referring to missing persons issue, he said that PPP was gathering information about missing persons so that their earliest recovery could be made possible.
