BHC orders towns to make proper arrangements for waste collection
QUETTA: A division Bench of Balochistan High Court has directed the Zarghoon and Chiltan Town to implement a proper regime of waste collection and fine the individuals who throw waste in non-designated places.
The Bench which was headed by Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Mr. Justice Qazi Faez Essa was hearing a petition filed by Talat Waheed Khan Advocate.
Taking note of the absence of a representative and non submission of report by the Chiltan Town, the Bench directed the Secretary Local Government to initiate disciplinary action against the TMO Chiltan Town if he fails to implement the orders passed by the court.
During the hearing Commissioner Quetta Division, DCO and SSP Traffic assured the court that they will immediately implement plans to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic inflow by systematically attending each and every road in the city. Moreover, they will also arrange for parallel parking of vehicles instead of diagonal beside roads.
TMO Zarghoon town stated before the honorable court that action has been initiated against butchers and other traders who are displaying food items without proper covering.
The Court also directed the Quetta Development Authority (QDA) to submit report regarding alleged allotment of roads and designated areas in various parts of the city.
The hearing was adjourned to Feb 16, next year.
