QUETTA, Dec 1: The activists of Balochistan National Party (BNP) on Tuesday took out rallies and staged demonstrations in different districts of Balochistan to protest against the killing of BNP leader Nauroz Rind.

Unidentified armed men had killed Nauroz Rind, BNP’s senior Vice President in Usta Muhammad of Jaffarabad District some days back.

Dozens of BNP supporters, holding placards and banners inscribed with different slogans, staged a protest demo outside Quetta Press Club. They were also shouting slogans such as “stop target killing of Baloch leaders” and “arrest the culprits”.

Addressing the rally on this occasion, BNP Secretary General Habib Jalib Baloch, Secretary Information Agha Hassan Baloch and other central leaders strongly condemned the killing of Noorez Rind and described his killing as a part of a series of anti- Baloch polices.

“Nauroz Rind was playing a pivotal role in the Baloch nationalist movement”, said Habib Jalib, BNP’s secretary general, “anti- Baloch forces were considering him an obstacle in their way. Therefore, they killed him. We see this as a very cowardly act.”

The BNP leaders alleged that through a well-knit conspiracy Baloch leadership was being eliminated to weaken the Baloch struggle.  “Nether neither through eliminating the Baloch leaders nor by other nasty tactics applied by the anti-Baloch forces will our movement ever be enervated,” said Jalib.

They also criticized the recently announced Balochistan Package and charged that the government was giving packages to Balochistan on the one hand and sending the dead bodies of Baloch leaders on the other hand.

Balochistan Package is nothing but a drama, they alleged, and added that the incidents of missing persons and injustice were continuing while forces in different parts of Balochistan were further consolidating their positions.

Meanwhile, protest rallies were also organized in different districts of the province including Khuzdar, Jaffarabad and Kalat to protest the killing of Noorez Rind.
