Call for implementing Balochistan Package in letter and spirit

QUETTA: Balochistan Sports Minister Mir Shahnawaz Mari lauding the Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package demanded of the federal government to ensure its implementation in letter and spirit to remove years-long grievances faced by people of Balochistan.

In an interview with APP here on Monday, he said that Balochistan had been neglected in various regimes since 70′s and implementation of the Aghaz Haqooq Balochistan Package would restore confidence between the province and the federation.

Expressing optimism for the outcome of debate on the Balochistan Package in the Parliament, he said that PPP led coalition government would fulfill the promises which it made with the people of Balochistan.

He termed the constitutional amendment as firm resolution to Balochistan issue as saying that Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan would provide relief to all sectors including social and economic.

He hoped that acceptance of Balochistan’s stance on the National Finance Commission Award would help bringing the people of the backward province into the main stream.

“Provincial autonomy and end of concrete list are the major demands of Balochistan and inclusion of these issues will not only be conducive to heal the wounds of the province,” he added.
