Dr Hayee criticizes Balochistan Package

NASIRABAD: Former President National Party and veteran Baloch nationalist leader Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch has termed Balochistan package as a “joke” with the people of the province. On one side there is propagation of package while military operation in continuing in the province and innocent Baloch were being kidnapped. Parliament is not sovereign and has become mere rubber stamp. There is no big brother in the country and rights of all nations are equal.

Talking to newsmen in Dera Murad Jamali he said during present provincial government military operation and state terrorism is at its peak. Disappearance and kidnapping of Baloch has increased many folds, Ghulam Muhammad Baloch, Lala Munir Baloch, Sher Muhammad Baloch, Rasool Bakhsh Mengal were killed while Zakir Majeed Baloch, Mushtaq Baloch, Jalil Reki and hundreds others were disappeared. Torture cells still exist where excesses and cruelties were being meted out. Government was following Musharraf policies.

Answering a question he said government did not hold consultation with nationalists parties about Balochistan package. All the parties have rejected this package as it is serious joke with the people who would not accept alms. Military operations were continuing in Balochistan form 1962 to 2005 and we strongly condemn it. Whole of the province has been given under the control of security forces who were disgracing people by setting up checking points here and there.

Due to military operation and under such a situation package is mere deceive. He said thousands of Baloch had migrated from Dera Bugti and Kohlu

Answering a question Hayee Baloch said there is need for amendment in the 1973 constitution and by forming new constitution rights should be given to all the nations on equal basis. Province should be left what powers they like to vest in Federation. Unless all the nations are given right over their resources on equality basis, prevalence of perpetual peace is not possible, he added.
