ECP notifies Tahir Mehmood as elected MPA

QUETTA: The Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has notified Tahir Mehmood Khan son of Haji Sher Bahadur Khan as retunred candidate from PB-Quetta-1.
An official handout here Tuesday said.
Mehmood is the younger brother of former Balochistan education minister Shafiq Ahmed Khan who was gunned down in Quetta by the Baloch Liberation United Front (BLUF). After his killing, the ruling Pakistan People’s Party decided to get the slain minister’s brother elected from the same electoral constituency from where his brother had been elected.
Mehmood won the by-elections last week with overwhelming majority by defeating Amanullah Shahdaezai of the Jammat-e-Islami.
