QUETTA, Dec 22: Security forces on Tuesday arrested an Afghan national and recovered arms and ammunitions from his possession in Gulistan, an area at Pak-Afghan border.
According to reports reaching here, personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) arrested a suspected Afghan national identified as Abdul Wali from Gulistan area and recovered 2 hand grenades, detonators, fuses, 11 kilograms explosive material, a TT pistol, mobile, and 33,000 cash.
The accused was smuggling the arms and ammunitions to Quetta and other parts of Balochistan for carrying out subversive activities during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Sources said that accused person had been handed over to police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Anti Narcotics Force (ATF) foiled an attempt of smuggling of narcotics and arms in Panjgour district.
According to reports, personnel of ATF seized a vehicle in Panjgour and recovered 350 Kilogram of hashish and 12 bore riffle from the cavities of vehicle. However, no arrest was made in the raid.
