JI Balochistan rejects Balochistan package

Jamaat-e-Islami_Pakistan_flagQUETTA, Dec 3: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan chapter has rejected the Balochistan package and termed it a hub of excesses and injustices meted out to the province by the center.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, JI Provincial Amir Abdul Matin Akhunzada said the package was limited to announcements, in which Pakhtoon dominated areas have been ignored and also Quetta having population of 2 million people.

He alleged that the government has taken all those people on board regarding the package, which had contested the fraud elections of Musharraf but did not consult any political party outside parliament and also those parties, which boycotted the elections from the APDM platform.

Provincial Naib Amir Dr Ibrahim and Secretary General Zahid Akhtar Baloch were also present on the occasion.

Matin said that JI Amir Syed Munawar Hassan is coming on three days visit to the province on December 6, during which he will also attend Ulema conference besides holding meetings with the leaders of various political parties.

According to him, the parliament is going to start debate on the Balochistan package and the package could not heal the wounds of Baloch people but the parliamentarians belonging to Balochistan have the opportunity to raise voice for rights and it will show to the people that how much do their representatives talk about their rights.

JI leader said now the bureaucracy will represent the province instead of political parties, which could not remove deprive ness of the Baloch people, adding, the government should have been consulted those sitting in mountains and fighting for rights.

He said one thing is clear the government has admitted the deprivation of Balochistan and urged the government to ensure the payment of 120 billion rupees in 12 installments and make recruitments on the quota of Balochistan.

Referring to law and order situation in the province, he said law and order situation in the province is very poor and target killings are in full swing.

In reply to a question regarding US decision of troops surge in Afghanistan, he said the US move would increase problems. -Online
