QUETTA , Dec 11: Balochistan Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gailo has said
that new formula for distribution of resources in NFC-Award would make
Balochistan financially sound and it would not need to seek financial
support from any one.
He expressed these views while talking to newsmen here on Friday.
He said that first time in the history of country financial disputes between
four provinces and center had been solved through mutual consensus and
Punjab province had played a significant role in this regard.
He said that through this historical announcement federal government would
provide 57.50 per cent resources to the provinces which will ease the financial
burden of provinces to a great extent.
Balochistan Finance Minister said that since 1974 resources had been
distributed on only population basis but first time in new award the
distribution of resources had been changed and along with population vast
scattered population, poverty and revenue generation have been adopted as
criteria.
He said that Balochistan share in provinces resources had been increased
from 5.11 to 9 percent and after this Balochistan would get Rs. 83 billions
from divisible pool instead of Rs 40 billion.
He said that people of Balochistan were angry over not getting due share
from Gas revenues but in the next award Balochistan would get Rs 13 billion
additional profit.
He said that the issue of GDS and Royalty were also solved for ever and as
far as outstanding dues under the head of GDS were concerned Federal
Government had announced that outstanding dues of Rs 120 billion would be
paid in next twelve years.
