No district-based quota for jobs under Balochistan Package, says CM Raisani

GWADAR: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani has rejected the demand of some sections of Baloch population that jobs being offered under the recently announced Balochistan Package should be distributed on the basis of district-based quota. He has pledged to maintain the sanctity of merit while recruit people on these jobs.

He expressed these views during a meeting with former provincial minister Hussain Ashraf whom he met on the sidelines of his trip to Balochistan’s port city of Gwadar.

The Chief Minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani had demonstrated personal interest in eliminating Balochistan’s sense of depriviation. The package had been announced despite limited resources.

However, he said jobs under the Balochistan package were for the educated graduates of Balochistan. They would be given to deserving people who meet the officially prescribed standards. There will be no district quota for the jobs.
