Police vehicle torched in Washak

WASHOK, Dec 2: An exasperated mob tortured a police vehicle on fire in Nag, a tehsil of Washak district, to vent their anger against the local police to register a first Investigation Report (FIR) against them here on Wednesday.
According to police sources, two local groups had a dispute over ownership of a piece of land. Nag police demolished a mud house on the land when a group lodged a FIR that the rival group had constructed a house on the land.
After the demolition of the house structure, a group of people blocked Quetta-Karachi Highway in protest against police action and torched the police vehicle.
The police have registered a case and started investigation.
Separately, the driver of District Police Officer (DPO) Kachhi was injured in a road accident in Dhadar area on Wednesday.
According to details, escort vehicle of DPO Kachhi met with an accident near Dhadar Police Station today. As a result Driver Bashir Ahmad sustained injuries. He was shifted to civil hospital Dhadar. Later he was referred to Quetta in serious condition.
