Renowned TV actor Sarmad Gichki killed in “accidental firing”

QUETTA, Dec 18: Renowned TV actor and brother of Deputy Secretary of Chief Minister Balochistan Sarmad Gichki was killed while cleaning his gun in provincial capital on Friday.
According to details, Inspector of Excise and Taxation Department and renowned actor Sarmad Gichki was cleaning his gun in his house located at Wadahdat colony. Accidentally a bullet was fired from the gun which hit him. He received critical injuries and rushed to hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.
The news of sudden death of TV actor spread in provincial capital like a fire in Jungle.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muihammad Aslam Raiosani provincial ministers including Mir Asim Kurd Gailoo, Captain (r) Abdul Khaliq, government officials and a large number of people reached at the residence of Mr. Gichki and expressed their deep sorrow and grief over his tragic death.
Sarmad Gichki was one of the best actors of Balochistan. He had worked in many drama serials and plays of different languages including Urdu, Balochi and Biravi.
His funeral prayers would be offered at Wadahdat colony after Zohar’s prayers.
He was the brother of Imran Gichki, the Deputy Secretary of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani.
Earlier, there were reports that TV actor had committed suicide but this report was strongly denied by his family members.
Gichki was born on October 10 1975 and began his career with drama serial Tapti Chaoon made at Pakistan Television Center’s Quetta center in 2005. He was fond of long drive, Facebook and cricket. In his last Facebook status entry, he wrote, “Ham Chaley” ( And here I depart!) which has given currency to speculations that he had committed suicide. His family rebutted these speculations.
Meanwhile, the Baloch Hal team has expressed deepest sorrows over the untimely death of a highly promising Baloch artists and termed his death as an irreparable loss to the world of art in Balochistan.
