Talal withdraws electoral candidate, demands postponement of Quetta by-polls

QUETTA, Dec 20:  Chief of Jahmoori Watan Party (JWP) Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti has announced the withdrawal of JWP candidate in favour of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) candidate in upcoming by-election on PB-I Quetta and demanded of the government for immediate postponement of election due to Muharram-ul-Haram.

He was addressing a joint press conference flanked by JI Balochistan Amir Abdul Mateen Akhundzada, President Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Qazi Shahid and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI- Ideology) leader Abdul Qadir Luni at Bugti House here on Saturday.

Talal Bugti said that JWP, JUI-Ideology and PTI had unanimously decided to support the candidate of JI in by-election on PB-I Quetta.

He said through collective struggle they would defeat PPP candidate.  “We have taken this step for the best interest of people to defeat government’s candidate”, he added.

Talal Bugti alleged that they were aware that government machinery, 64 ministers and bureaucracy would fully work for the success of PPP candidate but they were hopeful that they would defeat PPP candidate.

He said that PPP government had miserably failed to address the problems of people.

“We had boycotted the elections from the platform of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) that provided a chance to some parties who contested elections and formed government” JWP leader added.

He said that he had submitted an application to election commission seeking immediate postponement of by-election owing to Muharram-ul-Haram and deteriorating law and order.

However, he said that if some thing wrong was happened during bi-elections provincial government and Election Commission would be responsible for it.
