Balochistan Assembly’s 14th session meets today

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly (BA) is going to meet today (Monday) to pass the an amended bill of Balochistan Local Government Ordinance to appoint administrators across the province after the end of the local government system introduced by former president General Pervez Musharraf.
The amended bill would be presented in the 65-member of the Balochistan Assembly by Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost, the provincial local government minister. After the passage of the bill, administrators would be appointed in place of district nazims.
During the 14th session, a newly elected member of the Balochistan Assembly Tahir
Mehmood of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will be sworn in as a member of the assembly. Mehmood, a younger brother of former education minister of Balochistan Shahfiq Ahmed Khan who was gunned down by the Baloch Liberation United Front (BLUF), recently won the by-elections with an overwhelming majority from the same constituency where his late brother had won the polls.
The assembly session will continue till January 18th.
