Balochistan demands release of Rs.10 billion
QUETTA, Jan 12: The Balochistan Assembly (BA) unanimously approved a resolution demanding federal government to immediately release Rs. 10 billion for Balochistan in the wake of economic crisis.
The Balochistan Assembly met in Quetta on Tuesday with speaker Aslam Bhootani in the chair. The resolution was jointly tabled by three members of the house including Mir Asad Baloch, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel and Mir Zahoor Hussain Khan Khoso.
The movers welcomed the federal government’s announcement to release Rs.120 billion for Balochistan under Aghaz-e-Hoqooq Balochistan package and demanded the federal government to immediately release Rs. 10 billion to provincial government as first installment of that amount.
“Federal Government should pay 10 billion rupees from this amount immediately as first installment from the said amount so that province could be steered out from the financial crises” Asad Baloch said and adding that earlier Federal Government had paid 10 billion rupees to Pashtoon Khowa (NWFP) to ease its financial difficulties.
He said that due to financial problems MPAs could not carry out development works in their respective districts and were unable to remove the difficulties of people.
Asad Baloch said that practical steps should be taken for the solution of problems of Balochistan by the incumbent government so that people of province could feel any difference between the sitting and previous governments.
Other ministers and MPAs including Habib-ur-Rehman Muhammad Hassani, Peer Abdul Qadir Gailani, Gazala Golla, Nasreen Kethran, Abdul Khaliq Achakzai and others fully supported the resolution.
All the members of the house supported the resolution and adopted it unanimously.
Balochistan Judicial Academy Bill 2010 was also introduced in the house which was unanimously exempted from being handed over to standing committee for deliberation. The bill is aimed at establishing judicial academy to provide necessary training to judicial officers in Balochistan.
