CM Raisani announces two lakh rupees for Masthoi’s treatment

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani on Monday announced Rs. 200,000 for the medical treatment of Baloch journalist Irshad Masthoi who was electrocuted in Gwadar last week.

A delegation of journalists, headed by Abdul Khaliq Rind, secretary general of the  Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ), met Raisani after the Balochistan Assembly session and apprised him about the under treatment journalist in Karachi.

Masthoi had gone to Gwadar last week to cover the National Finance Commission signing ceremony which was attended by Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, chief ministers of all four provinces, federal and provincial cabinet. He was electrocuted during his trip to Gwadar due to which face and hands were badly burnt.

He was shifted to Karachi for medical treatment where he is still in need of urgent medical help.

Raisani said he would provide Rs. 200,000 for the medical treatment of Masthoi, a journalist affiliated with Online News  Network, and the government would fully bear the expenses of his treatment at Karachi’s prestigious Agha Khan Hospital.
