JUI-I leader calls for end to military operation in Balochistan
QUETTA, Jan 05: Central Convener and Nazim elections Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Ideological) Moulana Abdul Qadir Luni has demanded of the Government for halting military operation in tribal areas and South Waziristan and settle down the issues through dialogue.
He made this demand while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club flanked by other JUI leaders here on Tuesday.
JUI leader said that incumbent government should play its due role in stopping American drone attacks in tribal areas and sever alliance with US in war against terrorism.
He said that dozens of innocent people had been killed and injured in drones attacks.
He said that after incident of 9/11 hundred of people were allegedly picked up by government agencies from different areas of country including Balochistan on charges of having links with Taliban.
He claimed that still a large number of people were missing while government was not making practical effort for their recovery.
He demanded of the government for initiating process of dialogue in tribal areas of the country like Balochistan and stop using force on its own people.
JUI leader also criticised government for increasing power and gas tariffs and demanded that government should immediately withdraw its decision.
He said that JUI had started membership campaign through out the country and this campaign would be made successful.
