One gunned down in sectarian assault

QUETTA, Jan 6: A person was shot dead on Kasi Road of Quetta apparently in an incident of sectarian killing here on Wednesday night.

According to police and eyewitness, Muhammad Arif hailing from Shia community was on his way at Kasi Road near Raisan Muhala when armed men riding a vehicle opened fire on him. As result, he received critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries before reaching hospital.

Police after completing legal formalities handed over body to heirs.

Police sources said that it would be premature to say any thing about the killing however, it could be an incident of sectarian killing. However, investigation is underway to ascertain real cause of murder.

No group has accepted responsibility for the killing of Muhammad Arif so far.
