One killed in attack on vehicle of provincial minister

QUETTA, Jan 9: An employ of provincial minister for Zakat  Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa was killed when his vehicle was attacked here on Saturday night.

Police sources said that a personal employ of Saleem Khosa had gone to purchase some goods from Bazaar in the vehicle of minister. When he reached in Jinnah Town area of city unknown persons opened indiscriminate firing on the vehicle.

The employ of minister whose name has been identified as Muhammad Bachal received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.

The attackers escaped he scene after committing crime. The body of employ of minister was shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for autopsy.

An investigation has been ordered by the police authorities to ascertain the real causes of attack on the vehicle of provincial minister. However, no group has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.

Some official sources said though provincial minister himself was not present in the vehicle at the time of attack but he could be the real target of attackers.

Earlier, provincial education minister of Balochistan Shafiq Ahmed Khan was also killed in a such attack in October last year while a hand grenade attack was also carried out on the residence of provincial information minister Mr. Younus Mullazai in Quetta City.

In the meanwhile provincial government has increased the security of provincial ministers after killing of Shafiq Ahmed Khan and jamers have also been installed at vehicles of some provincial ministers.
