Shia Conference demands judicial inquiry of Karachi carnage The Baloch Hal News
QUETTA, Jan 1: Balochistan Shia Conference (BSC) has demanded of the government to conduct a probe into the Karachi incident by a sitting judge of Supreme Court Pakistan or High Court within fifteen days.
President Balochistan Shia Conference Syed Ashraf Zehdi flanked by other religious scholars made this demand while addressing a press conference at Imambargha Nichari here on Friday.
He said that 2009 was a devastating year in the history of Pakistan in which targeted all main cities of the country and killed hundreds of innocent people.
He said that terrorist attacks were also carried out against people of Shia community in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Muzafarabad.
Syed Ashraf Zehdi said that dozens of people hailing from Shia sect were also targeted in Balochistan including Sheik Muhammad Hussain Zakir Najafi, Hussian Yousufi, Syed Talib Agha, Wilayat Hussian Advocate and others.
He said that Ashura procession of Karachi was attacked when it had reached its termination point adding that volunteers and rangers laid down their lives to avert a big loss.
He said that some unknown miscreants sprinkled chemicals on shops and set them on fire which was occurred due to negligence of police.
He said that Taliban had accepted the responsibility for the attack and they were responsible for the torching of markets.
He demanded that the family members of the victims should be given compensations including the victims of target killings in Quetta.
Earlier, a large number of people hailing from Balochistan Shia Conference, Hazara Qaumi Jirga, Balochistan Trader Association and other organization took out a rally from Prince Road against the Karachi tragedy which passed through various roads of the city and culminated at Imambarhga Nichari.
