Zakir Majeed’s sister demands missing brother’s release

Sister of Zakir Majeed Baloch, a missing leader of BSO-Azad  has demanded human rights organizations for exerting pressure on government for the recovery of missing Baloch persons including her brother who were allegedly whisked away by government agencies.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta press club on Sunday, she said that Zakir Majeed had done Masters of arts (MA)and was a social worker who had played a big role in collecting relief goods and donations for the flood affectees of 2007 and displaced persons of Dera Bugti and Kohlu.

“My brother was picked up by personnel of secret agencies when he was going to Khuzdar from Mastung on June 8th, last year”, she alleged and added that police did not register the case of missing of her brother.

She said that her brother had never been involved in any unlawful activity and urged that if he had committed any crime than he should be produced before a court of law so that he could prove his innocence instead of keeping him in torture cells.

“We have adopted all democratic means to register our protest including holding rallies and observing hunger strikes but all in vain”, she added.

She said that UN and other humanitarian organizations should take notice of alleged atrocities and violation of human rights in Balochistan and pressurize the government to recover all missing persons.
