JUP flays govt for not curbing terrorism

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (JUP) President Sahibzada Fazal Karim while criticising government has said that it had badly failed to curb incidents of terrorism in the country that had caused immense loss to the country.

He stated this while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Sunday during his visit to Quetta.

Sahibzada Fazal Karim strongly condemned the bomb blasts in Karachi and Quetta and urged government to take concrete steps against the people involved in acts of terrorism.

“Targeting innocent people in Quetta, Karachi and NWFP is reflecting that terrorists are succeeding in their nefarious designs”, he said and adding that government and its institutions had miserably failed to protect innocent citizens and establish the writ of government.

He said that through a well-knit conspiracy innocent people were being killed in Karachi and hoped that the people of Karachi would frustrate all conspiracies against them.

Criticizing government, JUI president said that instead of providing cloth, shelter and bread to the people the incumbent government was taking steps contrary to its manifesto and putting all burden on the shoulders of people that had caused a chaos around the country.

He said that until and unless interference of other countries was stopped peace could not be established in the country therefore government should take concrete steps to end foreign interference in country’s internal affairs.

He was of the view that government should not take aid under Kerry Lugar Bill because it would harm Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Referring to Balochistan, he said that Federal Government should further accelerate pace of implementation on Balochistan Package and 50 billion rupees be announced for the welfare of people of province on immediate basis.

He stressed that government should open more educational institutions in province to overcome illiteracy and ensure health facilities in all districts of Balochistan.
