PPP averse to clash of institutions: Firdous Ashiq Awan
QUETTA: Pakistan People’s Party does not want clash among institutions and struggling for their stability.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Population Welfare Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan while addressing a Press conference here Thursday.
Secretary Population Welfare Asmatullah Kakar and PPP leader Hidayatullah Pirzada were also present on the occasion.
DR Firdous Awan said that President and Prime Minister want stability and not confrontation with the institutions. Prime Minister wants reconciliation process with all political parties of the country.
She said that Balochistan is backward compared to other provinces and has much more problems. PPP government has its manifesto and will of Benazir Bhutto to develop this province and mobilize all resources to resolve its problems.
She said from day PPP came into power, it took steps to remove backwardness of Balochistan and for its progress and prosperity. She said Ministry of Population Welfare setup Regional Training Centres in Loralai and Khuzdar Districts in which women can impart training to play their role for Balochistan’s uplift and prosperity.
She said We would take population welfare programme in Balochistan. If Ulema and young people cooperate with us we would succeed in our aim.
Population Welfare Minister said that Punishment given to Dr Afia Siddiqi by American jury would worsen relations between Paksitan and United Stated. America should review her punishment and help reduce hatred against it prevalent in Paksitan. She said Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani is in contact with American authorities on Dr Afia’s case and soon there would be good result.
She said PPP government would bring women forward for the development of the country and the provinces. The province where women are not included in its development how would it progress. She asked women to stand shoulder to shoulder of women in Balochistan for the development of Balochistan.
