Two die of suffocation

QUETTA: Two people including a woman died of gas suffocation in Ziarat town on Sunday.

Amir and Farzana Tabassum residents of Quetta were staying in a hotel in Ziarat. They died in sleep in the wee hours of Sunday, as they had forgotten to switch off gas heater before going to bed.

Their bodies had been sent to Quetta for postmortem.

Ziarat is in the grip of cold wave following rains. Incidents of gas suffocation occur every year in winter despite repeated warnings by officials to switch off room heaters before going to bed.
