3 convict by accountability court
QUETTA: An accountability court sentenced three absconding accused to three years RI each in absentia and issued permanent warrants of arrests. These accused are former WAPDA official Sardar Khan, Syed Anwar Shah of Food Department and Rasool Bakhsh of Pakistan Post.
According to prosecution former Commercial Assistant of WAPDA Loralai Sardar Khan is accused of misappropriation of Rupees 24.84 million to national exchequer in 1998. Court freezed his National Savings Certificates worth Rupees 2.79 million.
Assistant Food Controller Syed Anwar Shah during his posting in Mastung during 2007 misused his powers and presented fake receipts and embezzled wheat causing a loss of Rupees 73.18 million to the government.
In the third case, former Post Master Rasool Bakhsh during his posting from June 2000 to April 2002 in Gandava misappropriated Rupees 0.395.
All the three accused are absconding.
Judge Accountability Court Zafar Ali Khosa awarded them three years imprisonment under section 31 of NAB Ordinance 1999 on their absence from the court and issued their permanent arrest warrants.
