Balochistan Levies Force Bill tabled in BA

QUETTA:  Balochistan Levies Force Bill 2010 to reconstruct and regulate Levies Force was tabled in the provincial Assembly when the house reassembled here Friday. Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhotani chaired the session.

The Bill was tabled by Provincial Ministry for Fisheries Hamal Kalmati in place of Home Minister Zafarullah Zehri who did not attend the session today.

After its enactment, it shall come into force at once and extends to whole of Balochistan.

According to statement of objects and reasons, in the light of provincial cabinet decision on March 9, 2009, Levies Force stands restored in the province. Initially the provincial Levies Force has started functioning in six districts, while Federal Levies is functional in 16 districts. Need for legislation was felt for sound footing of the Balochistan Levies Force on ground. Therefore, proposed bill will reconstruct and regulate the Balochistan Levies Force for maintenance of public order according to the lay and aspiration of the people.
