Capacity-building courses for TCC employees
QUETTA: A new batch of Tethyan Copper Company Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. (TCC) employees started training courses at Technical Training Center Quetta, Balochistan. These training courses are a part of extensive training and capacity building programs that TCC regularly organizes for its employees.
A group of 19 TCC employees is undergoing training at the center in various practical skills like computer literacy, civil drafting, mechanical/electrical technician, welding and plumbing. Certificates will be awarded on completion of these three months courses.
Earlier this year, another batch of TCC employees successfully completed training courses at DESCON Training Institute in Lahore. On-site training programs at Reko Diq project are continuously organized to enhance the skills and capacities of TCC employees to ensure that they have the best skills possible.
Additionally, in line with its commitment to help develop local work force, TCC supported four literacy centers at Nokkundi are presently providing basic literacy and basic life-skills training to 120 local residents. This six month training project is being implemented by a local NGO.
TCC is committed to ensuring that residents of the Chagai District of Balochistan are afforded first priority for positions during the planning, construction, and operation of its mine and processing facilities at Reko Diq and at present more than 83 percent of employees at Reko Diq are from the province of Baluchistan.
