Female students protest against alleged misbehavior
QUETTA: Students of Government girls College Quetta Cantt staged a protest over alleged misbehaviour with a student. Angry students pelted stones on teachers and shattered windowpanes of College building. Activists of a student organisation also entered the college and set furniture and tyres on fire and blocked Gulisrtan Road.
According to details, a protest was held over misbehaviour with a student at Government Girls College Quetta Cantt here today. College administration said that members of a student organization created disturbance in the college and broke windowpanes. They also pelted stones on the teachers and threw bottles.
On information, boys of Hazara Students Federation forced their entry into the college and joined girls protest. They took away the furniture of the college on Gulistan Road and set it on fire along with tyres. The road was blocked for several hours. They also chanted slogans against College administration.
They said that a driver pushed a female student standing in front of a bus and meted out indecent behavior with her.
College administration said the incident would be probed. Students of a group caused disturbance in the college and misbehaved with the teachers. They also called boys in the girls college which is condemnable.
On information Education Minister Tahir Mahmood reached the college. He held talks with management of the college, teachers and protestors. An inquiry committee was decided to probe the matter. It was also agreed to take action against boys and girls involved in disturbance in the college.
