Governor Magsi arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Governor Balochistan Nawab Zuliqar Ali Magsi has arrived in Islamabad to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani.

According to the official sources, Governor Magsi has traveled to the federal capital to discuss the current situation of law and order and other related political affairs with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani.

The governor’s meeting with the head of the state and the government is significant in the wake of growing law and order problems in Balochistan. Governor Magsi has been staunchly asking for provincial autonomy for Balochistan arguing that mere development and economic packages offered by the federal government would not suffice.

Governor Magsi has also been critical of the state of law and order in the Balochistan saying that there is no proper law and order in Balochistan. He has also recommended the Balochistan government to recall the Frontier Corps (FC) which has been deployed to curb the cases of target killing in Quetta, provided that the former was dissatisfied with the performance of the federal paramilitary force.
