Lawyers’ protest continues against the kidnapping of Ifthakar-ul-Haq

QUETTA, April 2: A large number of lawyers on Friday took out a protest rally and staged a sit-in outside Balochistan Assembly to protest against delay in recovery of Ifthakar-ul Haq Advocate.

Unidentified people had abducted Ifikharul Haq Advocate last month from the heart of provincial capital when he was taking his children to school.

The lawyers led by former President Supreme Court Bar Association, Hamid Khan, Ali Ahmed Kurd, Baz Muihammad Kakar and Hadi Shakil Advocate, marched through various roads of the city and staged a sit-in outside Balochistan Assembly.

Due to lawyers’ protest traffic remained jammed about one hour on different roads causing inconvenience to the commuters.

Addressing the lawyers, Hamid Khan, Ali Ahmed Kurd and Baz Muhammad Kakar strongly criticised provincial government, saying sixteen days had been passed but authorities concerned had miserably failed to recover Iftikharul Haq, which clearly depicts failure of provincial government to ensure security of the people.

They regretted and said that lawyers played a vital role for the rights of people and added that kidnapping of lawyers was a shameful act and perpetrators of such crimes should be dealt with iron hands.

They, however, said that lawyers of country were united and they would evolve a new strategy to launch a protest movement across the country if government did not get Iftkharul Haq recovered.
