Minister terms health budget inadequate
QUETTA: Provincial Minister for women Development Ghazala Gola has said that budget earmarked for health in Balochistan is insufficient and cannot help provide patients with even basic health facilities
The well off people should come forward and contribute for the cause, he said while addressing a seminar jointly organized by the Health department government of Balochistan, BRSP, MNCH National Program and Mercy Corps here at local hotel on Wednesday.
Minister said that government was making all-out efforts to avoid the suffering of the ordinary man, but due to lack of resources poor and downtrodden have to face a lot of problems.
One doctor for 300 patients and Rs 180 for per patient in the provincial health budget was too little, he added.
However, she said that the government alone should not be held responsible for problems in health, realizing our duty we must resolve it with combine efforts.
Earlier, Director General Health Dr Amanullah Khan, Manager Operation WHO Dr Tahira Kamal, Project Director MNCH National Program Dr Yousuf Bizinjo and Team leader Mercy Corps Dr Saeedullah Khan addressed the participants.
