PML-N Balochistan demands Musharraf’s extradition via Interpol
QUETTA, April 18: Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Nawaz) have vowed to bring former military dictator General Pervez Musharraf to justice for his alleged involvement in the murder of former Balochistan cheif minister Nawab Mohammad Akbar Khan Bugti and that of several other Balochs in a prolonged military operation in the resource-rich province.
Prominent leaders from the most popular opposition party, including provincial minister Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, provincial chief organizer of PML(N) Khudai Noor Khan, and former member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar collectively made this pledge in a public meeting held in Sariab area of Quetta City on Sunday. Thousands of people attended the public meeting.
The speakers in the public gathering opined that without punishing Musharraf the wounds of Baloch people would not be healed. “Incumbent government should bring Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan through Interpol”, they demanded.
They said that Balochistan was confronted with a difficult situation and Pervez Musharraf was responsible for all existing woes of the masses.
PML(N) leaders alleged that thousands of innocent Balochs were whisked away during former dictatorial regime of Musharraf and Balochs were subjected to worst injustices. Therefore, they stressed for bringing Pervez Musharraf to justice.
They said that United Nation’s investigation report had also held negligence of government of Pervez Musharraf for assassination of Benazir Bhutto. “ If people can be hanged after thirty years for their misdeeds in Bangladesh then why killers of people cannot be hanged in Pakistan” they said.
PML (N) leaders said that because of people friendly policies of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif a large number of people were joining party in Balochistan and it would soon emerge as the biggest party in the province.
People chanted slogans in favour of country and PML(N) leadership on this occasion.
Mir Zafarullah Shahwani and other tribal elders joined PML(N) on this occasion along with their hundreds of supporters.
