QESCO bans use of ACs in offices

QUETTA: A ban has been imposed on use of air conditioners in all offices of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) in the light of directives of government of Paksitan to overcome electricity shortage and present energy crisis. Those offices where there is permission for use of air conditioners, they were exercising restraint and use it after 11 am in case of immediate need.

This was stated by QESCO Chief Engineer Muhammad Shafiq Khattak while addressing a special meeting of the officers at QESCO Headquarters.

He called upon all the officers to fully participate in the energy save drive and start it form their houses and offices to set an example for the consumers. He said all necessary steps were being ensures to run this campaign successfully and effectively. Under this electricity of all the bill boards, sign boards have been disconnected. Orders have also been issued to disconnect supply from every second pole of street in bazaars, streets and along highways.

Under government directives notices have been issued to disconnect supply of electricity of all petrol pumps and CNG stations to close cere3monial lights and little use of electricity.

All the federal and provincial offices have also been appealed to stop use of air conditioners and reduce use of electricity by 50 percent.

QESCO Chief once again appealed to the consumers particularly agri consumers to cooperate with QESCO to remove self made additional load.
