QESCO clarification

QUETTA:  A Spokesman of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) while contradicting a report about non supply of electricity in Kharan for the last 38 years has said that three 220 kv Guddu-Uch-Sibi lines could not be repaired as yet for security reasons.

Spokesman said that a breakdown occurred on April 20 on three of the two 220 kv Guddu-Uch-Sibi transmission lines. Electricity shortage thus caused was being met through additional load shedding on 42 grid stations. Accordingly 6 to 8 hours load shedding was being made in Quetta, 16 to 18 hours outside Quetta. All the rural feeders were being supplied electricity for 6 hours by rotation.

Spokesman added ht at due to no security clearance to NTDC (QAODA), repair of these transmission lines could not be started as yet.

Spokesman appealed to the consumers to use minimum electricity till restoration of affected transmission lines.
