Quetta doctor’s refuse to treat ‘poor’ brain tumor child

QUETTA: A 7-month-old child having serious illness was refused for immediate operation by management of Civil Hospital Quetta, as his parents could not deposit required amount which said to be some 75 thousands.

While talking to media at Quetta Press Club, Agha Wali belong to Kila Abdullah 130 kilo-meters southwest from Quetta, said that his newborn child was suffering brain tumor and hardly he collected money for MRI test now he was asked for 75 thousand for immediate operation.

“Doctor told me for government expense I have to wait a month,” he told reporters.

On the contrary, Head of Nero Surgery Ward of CHQ, Professor Hamid Buzdar denied the statement as saying, “ half part of brain is affected of brain tumor and father was informed that if doctors carry out operation the child will lose his life because the illness is incurable,”

Provincial Minister of Communication and Development reached at Quetta press Club as soon he was informed. He awarded a sum of 0.1 million to the victim’s mother and directed to authority concerned take necessary steps in this regard.

Meanwhile, Balochistan chief minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, after hearing about the news in the media, intervened and assured to help the family of the sick baby.
