Rally to mark 18th amendment bill on April 14
QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples’ Party MPA Haji Ali Madad Jatak has said that an historic rally would be organized on April, 14 in Quetta to mark the landmark approval of 18th amendment bill from National Assembly.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that the history is replete with the examples that whenever PPP came in power it inherited the crisis form the previous regimes, adding the incumbent government of PPP in the beginning too had to face the difficulties but the adoption of 18th amendment bill unanimously due to the visionary approach of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani made opponents and critics quiet.
“Repealing the 17th amendment introduced by the than dictator Musharaf in the Constitution of Pakistan and passage of 18th amendment bill proves that PPP believes in democratic norms, he maintained.
He further said that credit goes to the President Zardari who laid down his powers and helped revive the parliamentary form of government in the country after the decades.
“Terming it a milestone achieved with the overwhelming majority in the parliament, he noted that in order to celebrate the merry of 18th amendment as a victory of democracy rally would be organized on April, 14.
After marching on main roads of the city rally would turn into big public gathering outside the Quetta press club.
“Consensus on NFC award and acceptance of Balochistan stance is yet another triumph of PPP-led coalition government and the out come of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani,s efforts, he added.
