QUETTA: The employees, parents and students of Tameer-e-Nau model high school Thursday took out a rally on Thursday, demanding the reopening of Tameer-e-Nau School which was closed when the principal of the institute was shot dead by unknown armed assailants in Quetta.
The rally started from Tameer-e-Nau Public College and, after marching on main roads of the city, culminated at Manan junction where the participants staged demonstration. Participants were holding placards inscribing with slogans like “restore the classes” and “save the future of students”.
Addressing the demonstrators, teachers of the school lamented the closure of the school arguing that it would deprive at least 600 enrolled students from their right to education.
They demanded of the concerned authorities to take up the issue as their top priority as the closure of school would lead to wastage of one precious year of students. Later, the protesting demonstrators dispersed peacefully.
