Senior Minister, QESCO chief discuss farmers’ issues

QUETTA: A delegation of farmers led by Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasey met with the Chief Executive office of Quetta Electric Supply Company Shafique Ahmed Khatak to discuss the issues confronting farmer community due to prolonged load shedding in parts of Balochistan here at QESCO office on Thursday.

Senior Minister, on the occasion said that load shedding causing great inconvenience specifically to farmers in the province, adding they are in extremely difficult situation and many of them are facing bankruptcy.

However, he slammed the saboteur’s incidents of blowing up the electricity towers and termed those involved in such acts as anti state elements.

Chief Executive Officer of Qesco informed the delegation that company is cognizant of problems facing the consumers, adding lately in line with the directives of Federal Minister for Power Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qesco has planned to providing 15 hours power supply to the farmers.

He added that the success of a program depends on farmer’s cooperation and removal of illegal extra electricity load.
