Tearful Quetta mourns Friday’s suicide attack
QUETTA: A complete shutter down strike was observed in the provincial capital on Saturday which paralyzed the routine life in protest against Friday’s deadly suicide attack inside Civil Hospital Quetta, which killed 11 people and injured over over 36.
Most of the commercial establishment, shopping and trading centers and educational institutions remained closed entire day to respond the strike call given by Anjum-e-Tajeraan Balochistan.
Most of the streets and roads wore a deserted look with very thin traffic. There was thin attendance in Government offices.
When the time passed some of the shopkeepers reopened their shops in the afternoon, particularly the chemists’ shops before the noon and started removing the dust to resume the business in full swing later in the day. Even the bakeries and some eating houses were closed for the day.
Police and security forces remained on alert restoring snap checking of vehicles in the main city centers.
The strike call was supported by Pakistan Muslim League (N) Balochistan, Pakhtonkhaw Milli Awami Party, Jamiat-e-Ulemae Islam (JUI-F), Jamat-e-Islami, Awami national Party, Hazara Democratic Party and Balochistan Shia Conference. No untoward incident was reported during the peaceful shutter down strike on Saturday.

This was very encouraging that all sector of the city collectively mourned the tragic incident. Life is getting very tough for all people living in Quetta regardless of their ethnic origin. However, look at the miserable condition of people citing in the govt. They are so scare of the terrorist that they are not going for condolence for their own people–the police killed, the MNA injured. This fire may not be restricted to one sector of the city. This may spread and burn whole city including those citing in the socallled safe govt building behind walls. Wake up people of Quetta, forget your differences. You have to save your property and lives–you can’t rely on these Coward govt.
Regards,
Ahmed Shah
this fire will engulf the whole city, if not the province if the criminal silence of the local people continues along with indifference of the provincial government
