Three injured in Quetta shooting

QUETTA: Three people, including a police assistant sub inspector (ASI), were injured when unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate fire at them in Satellite Town in Quetta on Sunday.

According to sources, unknown assailants ridding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire at police Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Abdul Majeed who was sitting at hotel near New Bus Stop in Satellite Town. Resultantly, police man and two others who were present at hotel identified as Abdul Jalil and Sher Ahmed received bullet wounds.

Perpetrators managed to flee from the scene after committing the crime. Police squad reached the spot soon after the incident and took the injured to Sandman Hospital Quetta where the injured police man was said to be in critical condition.

A case has been registered against unknown persons in Satellite Town Police Station.

“Criminals’ target was policeman,” said a policeman, “however, further investigation is under way.
