ZAB’s 31st death anniversary marked in Balochistan
QUETTA, April 4: The 31st death anniversary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founder and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was observed in provincial capital on Sunday.
A gathering was held at Sarwan House to mark the 31st death anniversary of PPP founder.
Addressing on the occasion, PPP Balochistan President Senator Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani paid rich homage to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and said that he struggled for the rights of oppressed people against imperialist forces and continued struggle till his last breath.
He said that today PPP workers across the country were celebrating death anniversary of Shaheed Bhutto, because he laid down his life and embraced martyrdom for their rights.
“His struggle is a torchbearer for us. Labourers, farmers and students should continue their struggle against imperialism to materialize Shaheed Bhutto’s mission”, he added.
He said that that late PPP leader was the creator of Pakistan’s nuclear programme and his agricultural and industrial reforms laid the foundations of the country’s prosperity.
Mr Lashkari said that the Shaeed Bhutto fought for people’s rights and the party would continue his mission.
PPP’s Deputy General Secretary Saeedullah while paying homage to Mr Bhutto, said that he saved the country from complete destruction in 1971 and steer it out of from serious crises.
He said that Shaheed Bhutto gave 1973 constitution to the country, but unfortunately after his assassination undemocratic rulers made many amendments in it in accordance with their wishes to prolong their undemocratic rule.
He said that incumbent government of PPP succeeded to get rid of all amendments made by undemocratic rulers in 1973 constitution through consensus which would again push the country on the track of development.
PPP leaders including Doctor, Sardar Muhammad Hussain Baloch, Syed Thair Agha and Manan Gohar praised Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s services for the party and the country.
Earlier, a large number of party workers attended the function. They offered fateha khowani, and Quran Khwani for the departed soul of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Langar (free food) was also distributed amongst workers and poor people on this occasion.
