QUETTA: Chairman Pak Afghan Business Alliance and President Balochistan Customs Clearing Agents Association Naseebullah Tareen has appealed to the shopkeepers and businessmen to foil call for strike Thursday.

Addressing a press conference here today he said that the strike was not in the interest of shopkeepers, small traders and businessmen but it was based on personal interest.

He said in view of deteriorating law and order situation in the provincial capital, business had already been destroyed and small shopkeepers were already faced with serious problems.

“Due to massive fire in City Centre,” he added, “businesses have remained shut for three days. Shops are closed by 8 pm because of electricity load shedding. A group has hurled call for shutter down and wheel jam for today against Collector Customs. He said Collector has nothing to do with small traders, businessmen and shopkeepers. Strike was causing losses to the small businessmen while government and importers and exporters were not affected by it.”

He said due to efforts of Collector Customs Hafiz Matiullah, Additional Collector Khalid Hussain Jamali and Assistant Collector Shakir Ahmad Collectorate has earned billions of rupees revenue. Confrontation with Collector Customs would cause further loss to small traders and shopkeepers he added.

Naseebullah Tareen has appealed to the envisioned traders and small shopkeepers to open their business today and prove their loyalty with the country.
