Begum Shehnaz calls on Governor Balochistan

QUETTA: Begum Shehnaz Wazir Ali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Social Sector and head of Pakistan Education Task Force Friday called on Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi at Governor House.

Provincial Education Minister Tahir Mehmood Khan and other officials of education department were also present on the occasion.

Governor Balochistan while talking to the delegation said reforms and betterment in the education sector in Balochistan was not possible unless it is purged of unnecessary politics.

Only merit be perused instead applying politics while making the appointment of the teachers he reiterated, adding the heavy responsibility falls on Parliamentarians to come forward and play their role in this regard.

On the occasion, Begum Shehnaz apprised the Governor that Task Force on education has been established as a national initiative with the aim to support the implementation of the new National Education Policy and massive change in the declining sector of education.

Incumbent government of PPP is facing chronic problems but yet it is determined to improve the social sector including education, she maintained.

She noted that steps are afoot to bring about a positive change in the education sector by introducing better education policy, planning, increasing the human recourses and involving non-governmental organization.
