City Center fire to be investigated

The Baloch Hal News

QUETTA: The local administration will soon start the investigation into the accidental fire incident that caused huge losses at the City Centre. The commercial center  had  caught fire as a result of short circuit .

The Administration is concentrating on the issue that there should not be recurrence of such major incident in Quetta by implementing the Building Code.

The owners were responsible for violating the established building code and built a huge commercial complex where the lives of thousands of customers and people, including women and children, placed at the risk.

The rescue workers and fire fighters found it difficult to extinguish the fire for 24 hours merely because the huge commercial plaza was closed from all direction and the rescue workers had to break the walls to pour water on simmering for 24 hours.

The local administration will be seeking an advice from the higher ups to impose severe penalty on the owner of shopping plaza for putting the lives of customers and others at risk willfully by violating the Build Code.

The Commissioner of Quetta Division had formed an official committee to probe into the incident and fixed the responsibility for such a major disaster. It may be recalled that the huge commercial complex caught fire off day being Friday and there were no customers inside as it was closed weekly off day. Most of the fire fighters and police investigators had completely ruled out any mischief. It is simple case of negligence and lust to mint more money by hundred percent utilization of space for profit making without considering the risk to the lives of the visitors and customers, mostly women and children.
