Irrigation minister whines against load-shedding

QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Power & Irrigation Sardar Aslam Bizenjo has said around 21 hours load shedding is being carried out throughout Balochistan for past 21 days. The power pylons destroyed three weeks ago in Chattar area have not been  repaired which indicated the negligence of Quetta Electricity Supply Company (QESCO).

He made these views on the floor of Balochistan Assembly on Monday.

“Standing corps have been destroyed and people are deprived from clean drinking water due to load-shedding,” he complained.

He said whenever his department approached QESCO chief, he would assure that the issue would be sorted out in two to three days but after passing many days the repair work had not been completed.

“The people have now gone on strike against load-shedding. Now the situation is worsening day by day. If appropriate steps are not taken immediately to end the load shedding, the farmers would intensify their strike.
