Lawyers observe black day against May 12 incident
QUETTA: Lawyers boycotted courts proceedings in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Wednesday to protest against May 12, 2007 incident of Karachi.
No lawyer appeared in any court including the Balochistan High Court and subordinate courts today. They hoisted black flags at the barrooms.
A condolence reference was also held at the District Courts compound by Balochistan Bar Association. Bar President Baz Muhammad Kakar and other lawyers spoke on the occasion. Meeting adopted a resolution which demanded arrest of those responsible of the incident and take them to justice.
Lawyer leaders announced that Bar would file a petition against May 12 incident in the Supreme court of Pakistan soon. Memorandum would also be presented to Speakers of National and provincial Assemblies in this connection.
