One killed in NATO oil tanker explosion

QUETTA: A passer-by teenager was killed and two others sustained injuries when an explosive device  attached with a NATO oil  tanker went off near Chaman Zero point, bordering township with Afghanistan, on Wednesday.

Official sources said that unknown miscreants had planted an explosive device with a tanker carrying fuel for NATO forces deployed in Afghanistan. It exploded with big bang near the Chaman Zero Point and caused a huge fire.

Three passers-by, including two teenagers, received burn injuries and one of them died on the spot as they were passing through the area when the blast occurred. The police and bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot soon after the incident and took the body and the injured to nearby hospital. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area for protecting necessary evidence from the crime scene.

The identity of the deceased and one injured could not be ascertained till filing this report. One of the injured was identified as 12 year-old Abdul Jabbar, a residence of Chaman town.

A case has been registered against unknown persons and investigation is being carried out by local police
