Packages not enough to solve Balochistan issue: Liaquat Baloch
QUETTA: Central Secretary General of Jamaat-i-Islami Liaquat Baloch has said that people of Balochistan are not satisfied with the efforts and packages which were being offered by the government from time to time.
Addressing the Provincial Election Convention of the Jamaat here on Wednesday, he said for resolving the all burning issues, the Federal Government should distribute resources among the provinces in a fair and transparent manner. “The government had failed to overcome the crises and there is a need of change in leadership in the country,” he added.
“Without supremacy of law, the system would not be changed. Balochistan has an important strategic location and it is necessary that the situation here should be normalized because if it remains same that would affect the rest of the country,” said Liaquat Baloch adding that because of cruel acts of rulers and military dictators, situation in Balochistan got worsened. “There is no indication of writ of law in this province.
People are still missing and greater number of people listed missing in recent days. They are being killed in every passing day and their relatives are protesting, on the contrary, government and law enforcement agencies are flouting supremacy of law,” said Liaquat Baloch adding that situation is going to point of no return. He gave an example of one of his party worker Saeed Baloch, Gwadar based political activist, who went on missing from Karachi since last month. He is not traced as yet, the Jamaat leader told newsmen.
He said that rulers should keep in mind that without giving Pervaiz Musharraf an exemplary punishment, people of Balochistan would not believe on government and its so-called development projects.
Pakistan is now stuck in various crises due to utter apathy of rulers, which pushing the country towards a failed state.
He said that America is losing the battle in Afghanistan, thus the US is diverted its strategy towards Pakistan creating disturbances. Some slave rulers of the country are also working on the American agenda to promote ethnic violence and sectarian clashes.
Liaquat Baloch said the local election should have been conducted earlier but it is the failure of government that it could not even announce the date of local election.
Talking about 18th Amendments, he said two years have been wasted for this purpose but instead of easing the crisis, the amendments created new problems for the people.
Revival of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) was possible when the attitudes of leaders get changed, the Jamaat leader observed.
