Patient dies over doctors’ alleged negligence
QUETTA: Dozens of people staged a protest demonstration on Brewery Road, before the Bolan Medical College against the alleged negligence of doctors which claimed the life of a patient.
Protesters claimed that their relative, Shah Mohammad, was brought to BMC after sudden heart attack for treatment on Monday but not a single doctor was present at the moment to save the patient’s life. The enraged protesters burnt tires on the road suspending the traffic.
Police reached the spot after being informed about incident. Personnel managed to pacify the protestors after an hour.
A local doctor, Baqir Shah, said the patient had been brought at 3:55 at BMC and was attended by doctors, “He was MI patient and doctors made every possible efforts to save his life which is our holy duty,” said Baqir adding that the absence of hospital staff was a fake story made by the family members of the patient who lost his life because relatives were also present at the moment and later outsiders created disturbance.
