Professor Saba Dashtyari reaffirms call for Balochistan’s independence
QUETTA: “The Establishment has failed to deviate the Balochs from their
struggle for independence in spite of atrocities and excesses against them.”
These views were expressed by speakers in a seminar under the title
“Baloch independence movement and Mir Yousuf Aziz Magsi” organized by
Baloch Students Organization (Azad) in connection with the death
anniversary of Yousuf Aziz Magsi here at Quetta Press club on Monday.
Addressing the seminar, noted Baloch intellectual Professor Saba Dashtiari
paid rich tributes to the struggle of Mir Yousuf Aziz Magsi for the
Baloch masses and independence of Balochistan during the British colonial rule.
He said that late Magsi was a great leader who brought awareness among
Baloch people and gave a vision to Baloch nation and added that he had
brought education and social reformers.
Highlighting political struggle of Yousuf Aziz Magsi, he said that he
had no confusion over his vision and struggle for the independent of
Balochs, however, he said that some Baloch political parties backed by
establishment creating confusion among the youth of Balochs so that
they could be deviated from the struggle of independence.
Saba Dashtirari said that Baloch national movement had entered into
its decisive phase and announcement of few jobs in the name
of packages could not change the mind of Baloch nation.
“It has been proved that excesses and atrocities cannot compel the nations from their genuine struggle”, he said, and added that thousands of Baloch
youth were languishing in torture cells while hundreds of leaders
including Nawab Akbar Bugti, Mir Balach Mirri and Ghulam Muhammad were
martyred.
He strongly criticised Balochistan National Party and National Party,
saying both parities had sold the coastal belt of Balochistan and now
deceiving the people in the name of education and self-determination.
He regretted over the intellectuals of Punjab and said that why they
were hesitating to write that Balochistan had been forcefully occupied
by Pakistani forces and recognize the sovereignty of Balochistan.
He said that establishment was hatching conspiracies against Balochs
and their struggle through using different tactics and targeting
innocent people who are on the surface. “Why the security forces can
not fight with Baloch freedom fighters and targeting innocent youth
and women”, he asked.
He urged upon the Baloch intellectuals to highlight the main efforts
of Yousuf Aziz Magsi which he had rendered for the liberty of Baloch
nation as he had said that armed struggle was the only way to free the
Balochistan and unit Balochs.
Baloch writer, Dr. Shah Muhammad said that it was Yousuf Aziz Magsi
who had held first all India Baloch Conference and had played an
unprecedented role in bringing development in all spheres of Baloch
society.
“Magsi was very close to Allama Muhammad Aqbal and Zafar Ali Zafar”,
he said and added that he brought revolutionary changes in Baloch
society, by opening educational institution and opposing Sardari
system despite being a Sardar himself.
He said that he was much concerned about the education of Baloch youth
and had established an educational institution in Jhal Magsi in the
name of Jama-e-Yousufia.
He said that Magsi was one of the opponents of strictness on women and
had always raised voice for the women rights and added that Magsi had
said that without participation of women in struggle movement it would
not be succeeded.
Salam Sabir and other workers of BSO also made speeches on the
occasion and stressed up the need to follow the footprints of Yousuf
Aziz Magsi and materialize his mission that they said is an
independent Balochistan.

Baloch nation is proud of their committed intellectuals who are practically involved in Baloch national movement. Among one of them is professor Saba Dasthyari who is practically involved in the Baloch national movement; attending the rallies, speaking at seminars and addressing the press against the occupier’s of Balochistan, Pakistan and Iran.
Today, he is the prime example amongst Baloch intellectuals. Tirelessly, with limited resources, he continues to contribute in the Balochi literary field; Teaching Baloch children their mother language Balochi.
He openly expresses his compelling and critical views towards the puppet Baloch leaders. He speaks of their role and exposes their opportunism in Baloch politics; they have a history of causing disunity among Baloch national movement. During the colonial rule of British Empire; there were many puppet tribal Sardars, Nawabs and Khans whom created rifts amongst Baloch movement.
Today, history is being repeated; Pakistan from its birth never had a true democracy for the last 62 years. Islamabad is giving the Baloch leadership and pro-parliamentarians repeatedly a false hope of democracy, liberalism, and autonomy, unfortunately, many Baloch leaders trip. They have been intentionally buying the states false promises while state main intention is to create a rift amongst Baloch leadership. The main motive is to freeze the strong and growing independence movement which is gaining the support in the masses.
Baloch nation is proud of their selfless intellectuals who have rejected the third world (Pakistani) norms of intellectualism. Whom are always silent because of fear, or sell their pens for pleasing the state to gain fame and wealth. As professor Saba Dasthyari , Jan Muhammed Dasthi and Hafeez hassanabadi and many committed Baloch writers who are contributing their knowledge by exposing the occupiers atrocities and oppressions against the Baloch nation“ Life with no freedom has no value, there is no freedom without sacrifice.” Anonymous
